Sausage & Egg Casserole

For those who like breakfast for dinner
(you could have it for breakfast...we did one Christmas morning...yummy)
Curly Girl brought this recipe from one of her classes at school.
Combine the following ingredients:
1 lb browned sausage, drained
6 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. milk
5 slices white bread, toasted & broken into pieces
2 c grated American cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Pour into well greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min, or until liquid sets.

Missing You

I was typing stuff for seminary yesterday and
looked over to see Mickey missing his summer playmates
...now at school all day long.
He is also tired of his daily companion who now has her nose in a book
...all the time.

New Adventures

As the summer draws to a close...yeah, right...the heat index reads 118 degrees this afternoon...we are about to embark on some new adventures:

Mr. Chef just got a new calling...High Councilman. He is going to be speaking in the ward he grew up in this Sunday...talk about full circle.

Drummer Boy got a job this summer at a pizzeria and is loving it...which is good, because he would eat us out of house and home if he didn't get to eat there for free. He got to speak in Stake Conference and will have plenty of other chances at the pulpit speaking with his dad in wards thoughout the stake.

Curly Girl...no longer a girl, but a young lady, will be of dating age soon...as Mr. Chef gets his gun cleaning supplies ready...LOL! She has been busy this summer babysitting kids in the ward.

Movie Girl has enjoyed having money to spend, helping her sister babysit.

I have spent the summer getting ready for my new calling...teaching early morning seminary. I am so excited!

Orange Julius

We have had triple-digit temperatures for a few days now.
Nothing cools down the afternoon better than a homemade orange julius!

In a blender, add:
20 ice cubes
6 oz OJ concentrate (1/2 can)
1/2 c water
1 c milk
1 t vanilla
Blend until most of the ice is crushed. Makes 4 cups in each batch.
Enjoy :)

After the Rain

For the last two days, we have had some scattered thunderstorms with heavy downpours.
After the second one yesterday, Curly Girl found a rainbow outside her window.

Girls Camp 2010

This year we camped at Greers Ferry.
Even though it was VERY hot, it wasn't as hot as the next week.
I helped the Stake with the YCLs; we had 22 girls and had a blast!
We took up 4 platforms, one for the leaders, and 3 for the girls.

How many tents can we fit on one platform?

Our pad...thanks Lindsee for bring your tent!

And our heavenly view!
