Olympics

Well, this is it...the Olympics will be over! Joked that the Olympics should be apart of the Word of Wisdom...they are so addicting!!!! There has been more than one night that I have stayed up until the wee hours of the morning watching...then would arrange a nap in between the coverage during the day. Also helps that my darling husband was there! Told him about the Today Show filming outside his building and he would run out there to see if he could get some "on air" time. He would then email me what he was wearing and where he was in the crowd. But I didn't look at emails until afterwards, so I was watching, but he didn't stick out in the crowd...funny, not many bald men in Beijing. They were also filming at night (our morning) so it would get dark quick. He did get autographs from Matt, Meredith, Ann, and Al.
Of course my favorite sport was volleyball...beach and indoor...men's and women's...hence the wee hours of watching. I was so excited that Robert got tickets to both men's and women's beach bronze and gold medal matches. Poor guy...for the women's he had to sit in the rain and then once the matches were over, the sun came out...in time for him to go to work.

Robert before the women's match and before the rain

Christian's favorite to watch was Michael Phelps winning gold after gold after gold. He also liked the diving...our neighbor's cousin is Laura Wilkinson, so we were watching her, too.

Kate's favorite was also watching Michael Phelps...and who could not get enough of that...the first week of the Olympics he had to have been tired...seemed he was in the pool the whole time.

Ashley's favorite was volleyball and swimming.

Hopefully Robert will be able to work at the next summer games in 2012 in London. I will absolutely want to be there! I have always wanted to go to London. Back in the day, that is where I wanted to go on a mission...foreign, but English speaking. But served a different mission, marriage and motherhood...so I guess you could say motherhood is foreign and English speaking...LOL.

2016 Games still have yet to be announced, but Rio is in the hat. Robert was able to use his Portuguese with the Brazilian TV crews in Beijing and it would be awesome to go to Brazil...he has always wanted to take me to visit his mission. So cross your fingers!

I'm happy for you to have Robert come back home after all this time. I hope you do get the chance to go to a future Olympic location - that would be awesome!
