Pinnacle Mountain

Friday, my Laurels and I hiked Pinnacle Mountain for our class activity about faith. We got a late start, but it took about one hour up and one hour down....can say that down was easier...and we took less breaks...at least I did...I was carrying most of the water up and I had empty bottles on the way down. The humidity was so thick, it was hard to get a deep breath. Afterwards, we had lunch and then went to the visitor's center/gift shop. We decided we earned a trip to the pool, and we headed to Chrissy & Cassy's Aunt Michelle's beautiful Shangri-la...she has a landscaping business and her front and back yards are full of beautiful flowers and vegetation...and the pool felt very nice on this HOT day...thanks Michelle! We had enough energy to have a cannonball contest...and knowing that I had more weight to be displaced, I knew that I would win...and according to the girls...I did! Thanks Janae', for watching my kids!
We all had a great time and I asked questions trying to correlate the similarities of climbing a mountain and the gospel...such as:
What does the word "pinnacle" mean? What is our ultimate pinnacle...here and in plan of salvation? In the scriptures, what does it mean when the prophets go to the mountains? Who is our trail blazer? What is the marked path and how do we stay on it? Because people have been up here and say it's awesome, do we just take their word for it and not even try...or do we have the courage to find out for ourselves?...related that to gaining testimonies. Related giving me the water to carry to giving our sins to Christ and repenting. Looking from the top, seeing a different perspective...we just had lesson on eternal perspective.

Sounds like fun - I went off the diving board the other day for the first time in a few years and actually had butterflies as I was soaring (hopefully I was soaring and not flailing...). When does Robert come back? In the fall?
