Youth Conference

This last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday was our stake Youth Conference. It was great! Our theme was "Steadfast and Immovable in our Testimonies of the Restoration." We had so much fun and learned much about the restoration. We went to Arkansas Tech in Russellville...where I attended a few Youth Conferences when I was a youth...funny idea presented by Craig Moline in Sacrament Meeting today--to have an Old Geezer Conference where the youth are the chaperones of the leaders...I'm in...LOL

We ate in cafeteria and slept in dorms. We had large group meetings, small unit devotionals, great mini-classes, sports, and oh yeah, the dreaded dances...JK...LOL

We had 8 of our YW come along with Louise Simpson and me. The leaders need to receive "I survived Youth Conference" t-shirts...LOL...we leaders had a great time, too...even got out there and did the cha-cha slide. Bishop McKinney and his wife were out there in the conga line dancing, too. All had a great time.

This was Christian's first Youth Conference. He had a lot of fun and learned a few things. He took off to the pool the first day and jumped off the high and low dives the whole time. Only 50 people were allowed in the pool at one time and all in the shallow end were watching everyone jumping off the diving boards. He also played tennis when we went to the park on Friday...Mom played beach volleyball. It was very HOT that day (this week) and we were scheduled to have our dance at the park as well, but was allowed to go back to dorms and shower and have the dance at the Russellville chapel.

Our testimonies have grown from this experience. We thank all those who had a part of putting this gigantic event together. Hope all have gotten the needed naps to catch up on some sleep...know I have...LOL
